映像とは何か？問い、東京都写真美術館で開催中の恵比寿映像祭 2024 「月へ行く30の方法」。
16回目の開催となる今回は共同キュレーターにフリーランスキュレーターの兼平彦太郎氏を迎え、「オルタナティブビジョンズ」を標榜する。
映像、写真、彫刻、資料などさまざまなメディアを横断し、作品自体はもちろんそれらの関係性や「見る」ことを拡張しながら建物内外に配置し、見ることと同時に穏やかに問題提起へと意識を向かわせる。

国内外の125組の作家の160を越える作品を展示する今回。特に注目したいのが東京都写真美術館2階の展示室。ここではワンフロアの空間にあえて壁を設けず、様々な背景や表現形態をもった作品を壁や床にシームレスに展示している。展示でもない限り同じ場所に置かれることもなかった作者もコンセプトも制作年も異なる作品が、今という時代とともに調和した見事なキュレーションだ。

映像祭ならではの繰り返し見たり複製可能な映像や写真が持つ反復性だけではなく、偶然と出会い頭の「一回性」にも着目している点に注目したい。

会場で繰り広げられるアーティストによるパフォーマンスはもちろん、参加型の展示やワークショップ、トーク、オフサイト展示、ページをめくることで刻々と更新される本というフォーマットで展示される作品など、2度と同じものを見ることができないそんな体験も出来る。 会期は2週間あまり。コロナ禍を経ての開催となる本展では、体験型のプログラムや近隣のギャラリーなどで行われる地域連携プログラムも充実している。何度も訪れることでこれまでにない新鮮なアートとの出会いができるだろう。

30 Ways To Go To The Moon

What is frame? Question, Yebisu International Festival for Art & Alternative Visions 2024 to be held at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. This time, which will be held for the 16th time, we will welcome Mr.Hikotaro Kanehira, a freelance curator, as a co-curator and advocate “Alternative Visions”. Cross various media such as videos, photos, sculptures, materials, etc., and place them inside and outside the building while expanding the relationship and “seeing” of the work itself, and at the same time as seeing them, they calmly raise the problem.

This time, more than 160 works of 125 artists from home and abroad will be exhibited. Especially noteworthy is the exhibition room on the 2nd floor of the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. Here, we do not dare to set up walls in the one-floor space, and works with various backgrounds and forms of expression are seamlessly exhibited on the walls and floors. The author, concept, and year of production that were not placed in the same place unless it was an exhibition, are wonderfully curated in harmony with the current era.

I would like to pay attention to the fact that it is not only the repeatability of repeated and replicable videos and photos unique to the video festival, but also the “one-timeness” of chance and encounter.
In addition to performances by artists at the venue, such as participatory exhibitions, workshops, talks, off-site exhibitions, and works exhibited in the format of books that are updated every moment by turning the page, etc. twice You can also have such an experience where you can’t see the same thing. The exhibition is a little more than two weeks. In this exhibition, which will be held after the Corona disaster, there are also plenty of hands-on programs and regional cooperation programs held at nearby galleries. By visiting many times, you will be able to meet fresh art like never before.
